Update on COVID-19 — Golf Tournament Cancellation

Dearest Friends and Supporters,

I would like to start by extending our thoughts and prayers for everyone in these difficult times. As you are all aware, our country and the entire world has been grappling with the COVID-19 pandemic. The White House recently released guidelines for slowing the spread of this virus. The guidelines will be in effect until March 31, 2020. They include avoiding social gathering in crowds of 10 or more people. Taking these guidelines to heart, the board came to an obvious, but still difficult decision.

With the safety and well-being of our friends, supporters and volunteers in mind, the board of Abandoned Little Angels has decided to cancel our annual golf tournament scheduled for March 29, 2020. In light of the current situation, this is the most prudent course of action. Even though this is the responsible thing to do, we will miss the fun and friendship the tournament always brings.

In addition to golfers having a great time, our annual golf tournament focuses our fundraising on specific projects in Vietnam. Last year, we raised in excess of $20,000 to rebuild a center in Saigon. This year our goal is to help rebuild a school for disabled children in Nha Trang. Additionally, a portion of the funds raised at the golf tournament go towards our local charitable initiatives. We do realize that this is a hard time for most people, but it is especially hard on the children who rely on us. Even if we can’t play golf, these children still need our help. With this spirit in mind, please support our mission and visit our website to learn how you can donate: https://www.abandonedlittleangels.org/donate.

Together we can help these children have better lives and brighter futures. We are grateful for your continued support. On behalf of the board members, thank you and God Bless!
