A New Beginning for Y & Vi

For Y, 14, and Vi, 12, the lack of birth certificates was a barrier, locking them out of the formal education system. Orphaned at a young age, these two sisters found themselves residing with their grandmother, enduring daily struggles against profound scarcity.

For years, Y and Vi remained at home, their potential untapped, their dreams of learning locked away. Two years ago, Thanh Tam Charity School provided a critical intervention, offering them access to learning. Initially instructed alongside first-grade students, they have since advanced to the second grade, demonstrating remarkable academic progress and dedication. The Thanh Tam staff is also actively pursuing the acquisition of their birth certificates, a crucial step in securing their future.
