Celebrating Our 2025 Gala Honorees and Valued Contributors to ALA

During this year's Nature Wonderland Gala, we had the profound honor of recognizing truly remarkable individuals whose dedication strengthens our efforts and helps us achieve our goals.

We were honored to present the prestigious Angel's Award to Drs. Thien & Thanh Huong Nguyen. Dr. Thanh Nguyen Nguyen's journey with ALA spans more than two decades, beginning as a generous financial donor and evolving into a hands-on volunteer at our fundraising galas. For the past 13 years, Dr. Nguyen has served with great commitment as both ALA Board Chair and a dedicated board member. Their enduring support is essential to our cause.

We also proudly recognized Sophia Nguyen with this year's ALA Volunteer Award. Sophia's incredible artistry and dedication shine through in every detail of our annual gala. Each year, she spends many hours meticulously crafting each decoration, making every event unique and unforgettable. Sophia embodies not just creativity, but also remarkable focus, passion, and a deep dedication to ALA’s mission to better the lives of disadvantaged children.

The evening also provided a moment to acknowledge two other cherished members of the ALA family, Mrs. Minh Phuong and Mr. Nghia. As former Secretary and dedicated members of our Board of Directors, their passion for orphaned children has been evident for years. Now in their late seventies, Mrs. Minh Phuong, a former high school teacher, and Mr. Nghia, a retired French college professor, continue their profound commitment by dedicating several months each year to teaching English to sixty children at our ALA St. Michael’s Orphanage in Da Lat. Their continued compassion and dedication are a profound inspiration.
